A Thousand Cuts

A Thousand Cuts

Rodrigo Duterte – an outsider – tipped the political establishment in Philippine by winning the presidency and vowing revenge. Within hours, he piled up bodies of drug addicts instead of drug dealers and started a strong disinformation campaign which spread like wildfire on social media.

The government-sectioned drug war extended towards the journalists. Rappler’s CEO, despite threats, arrests and harassment continued publishing the truth about the event. As General Ronald carried out public executions, this feature depicts an epic fight for the consideration of a human life and the truth – a discord that exists far beyond the borders of Philippine.
