IMDb’s to Produce Celebrity Video for Sundance 2021 Coverage

“IMDb is thrilled to kick off our 30th anniversary year celebrating with entertainment fans and professionals at the 2021 Sundance Film Festival. Our goal is to help entertainment fans all over the world learn more about the compelling films premiering at the Festival while also offering a variety of premium experiences for IMDbPro members. Simply put, this is our biggest film festival activation ever,” said Col Needham, IMDb Founder & CEO.



What a start this year to kick off IMDb’s 30th anniversary. IMDb will be running the full schedule of celebrity interviews and red carpets at the Sundance film festival in Salt Lake, Park City, Utah, for the sixth consecutive year. The IMDb Studio, located at Acura Festival Village, will be home for original celebrity interviews from January 24 to 27. The coverage and interviews will be available on IMDb’s website, as well as on Social Media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube.

Filmmaker Kevin Smith will be hosting interviews with leading actors, writers, and directors from casts, including The Assistant, Ironbark, Palm Springs, Promising Young Woman, Spree, Zola, and more. Kevin Smith will also be moderating the Spree panel on January 24 at the Acura Stage at Acura Festival Village.



On the anniversary dinner party on January 27, Amy Ryan will receive her STARmeter award. The access to the IMDb studio is by invitation only.

IMDb will also be hosting a panel discussion with top women directors and cinematographers on January 25. The event will take place at the Canon Creative Studio (592 Main St.).

On January 26, IMDbPro will host a screening for the movie The Glorias. The film stars some phenomenal actors such as Julianne Moore, Alicia Vikander, Bette Midler, Janelle Monáe, Timothy Hutton, and Lorraine Toussaint.



Nicholas Braun, in recognition of his performances in the HBO series Succession and his highly anticipated performance in the Sundance premiere film Zola, will be receiving IMDb “Breakout Star” STARmeter Award at The IMDb Studio on January 25.

IMDbPro is the official sponsor of the Sundance Film Festival Industry Office. The lounge at the SIO will be home for the Institute’s colleagues to relax and meet up. (Thursday, January 23 – Sunday, February 2)

Rachel Brosnahan will also be receiving her IMDb “Fan Favorite” STARmeter award at the IMDb studio on January 24.
