An Insider’s Guide to Enjoying Sundance 2021 to the Fullest!

An Insider’s Guide to Enjoying Sundance 2020 to the Fullest!

If you have been residing in the US for long, the Sundance film festival 2021 would no longer be a surprise for you. We all know someone from our friends or family who has been to the Utah film festival, if not twice, then at least once! It is Disneyland for millennials. The sundance movies are made by people through different walks of life; grad school cinematographers, youtube comedians, Instagram influencers and twitteratis.

If you are an avid cinephile, chances are you have already written down Park City as your hometown, but if you are new to the sundance festival then we have got you covered. As sundance pilgrims, we know a bit or two about what it takes to make the most of your time at the Sundance festival.

To make sure you have a hassle-free time, take note of our suggestions mentioned below! I kid you not, they are going to help you in real-time.

It is going to get colder

It is going to get colder

At Sundance Utah every year, the temperature drops to – 40 ºF. You need to check the weather every day as Park City is known to experience snow, rain, and hail in January. There will be a lot of waiting around in icy conditions so you definitely need to pack waterproof boots with you! In the Sundance film festival 2019, the snow depth was more than an inch deep, which means ugg boots are not going to help you! Be sure to prioritize comfort over style, as everyone is going to battle the cold while watching the sundance movies so no one expects you to be stylish at the cost of risking your life!

It is about the films!

It is about the films!

A good tip here is to choose nearby venues so that your time during a commute is saved by watching as many sundance movies as you can! To increase your chances of getting a Sundance ticket, aim for the second screening instead of the premiere. As the sundance 2021’s program is still under construction, you can expect it anytime during December. Till then, keep checking their website for more information. Also, midnight screenings are more fun!

Grab the Sundance tickets and the Sundance schedule

Grab the sundance tickets & Understand the sundance schedule

The Sundance film festival 2021 schedule is soon to be updated on the official site. The festival passes are being sold right now at a discounted price, so you can grab them here! As soon as the sundance schedule appears.

You can grab sundance film festival tickets last minute at their mobile app too. Due to popular demand, they release extra sundance tickets, but you have to grab them the minute they appear!

Manage your energies

Manage your energies

Getting in the queue is part of the Utah film festival. Instead of stressing out and being frantic, you need to be patient with the order of the day. Save electric, physical and spiritual energy by:

  • Bringing a battery pack, cable, and plug for your phone
  • Carry a bottle of water with you and make sure you are well-rested!
  • Be kind and giving, everyone is going to be working hard, help out a stranger in need and don’t be afraid to ask questions!

Most of the food there quickly runs out of stock or is not unhealthy, so make sure you bring along your snacks with you. Take sanitizers to prey off bugs that try to target exhausted and dehydrated festival-goers!

Network like your career depends on it

Network like your career depends on it

If it is your first time at Sundance Utah, try to make sure that you team up with someone who has already been to the event. Being acquainted with a Sundance veteran can get you to places; from getting your bearings to getting an entry to the sundance parties – it will be a breeze! If you don’t happen to know a frequent festival-goer in your circle, mingle around and try to get acquainted with everyone on the first day.

For newcomers, it takes around a week to navigate through the festival and by the time you find a footing it is almost over. Ask questions from the sundance volunteers, they are really helpful and can you lend you more information regarding the exclusive events.

Getting to know people while waiting in the queue is one of the joys of Sundance. Embrace it and chatter on with your queue buddies.

In 1970, he designed a movie auditorium where through controlled lighting, he gave the effect of the screen disappearing into the darkness. Directors Oscar Raby, Richard Misek, and Charlie Shackleton use this kaleidoscopic experiment on the cinema to transform […]
