Special Events to Expect on Sundance Film Festival 2021

Out of 10,397 submissions, 9 special events were announced by Sundance administration as part of the 2021 Sundance Movie Festival.



These special events contain highlights of independent works and with remarkable moments and unique experience. Previous projects that were a part of this category include ​Lorena, Now Apocalypse, Wild Wild Country ​and​ Top of the Lake.

Hillary – U.S.A.

A biography of Hillary Clinton’s life. Directed by Nanette Burstein, gives us a deep insight on her achievements as a woman, going against all conventional norms. The documentary also includes her 2016 presidential campaign and a few never seen before behind the scenes.

A Marina Zenovich film that examines the ups and downs of a controversial person.

Leap of Faith: William Friedkin on the Exorcist – U.S.A.

Director William Friedkin tries to explain the spirituality of The Exorcist.



Love Fraud – U.S.A.

By director Rachel Grady and Heidi Ewing shows how a con man uses internet to prey on women, in search of true love.

Max Richter’s Sleep – United Kingdom

A Natalie John’s movie on the story of a composer and his travels.

McMillions – U.S.A.

A beautiful game scam of 1990s portrayed by James Lee and Brian Lazarte.

Siempre, Luis – U.S.A.

Director John James focuses on an immigrant’s journey and struggles.

The Trade – U.S.A.

Directored by Matthew Heineman shows the vicious cycle of human trafficking.

We Are Freestyle Love Supreme – U.S.A.

Directed by Andrew Fried, takes us through Freestyle Love Supreme’s 15 year journey.
