The Last Thing He Wanted

The Last Thing He Wanted
Elena is a journalist and a single mother. She is disappointed when her years of rigorous investigations into the Contra Activity of Central America are censored. She finds her relief when her father leaves her an unfinished savory arms deal in that region. Now alongside the US state official and a pawn surrounded by real ammunition, Elena needs to build her own story to survive.

With her ordinary life back home and a checkered past with the official, she is pushed to consider what she really wants. Director Dee Rees is a sundance winner and has been successful in portraying the bitter fates of complex characters.
