Vivos

Vivos
Late September in 2014, students of Iguala, Guerrero were attacked by police forces and masked assailants resulting in the deaths of 6 students while 43 were kidnapped and never showed up.

Ever since then, the families have lived in a loop of psychological and emotional turmoil with unanswered questions regarding the epidemic violence perpetuating in the Mexican society. Vivos is a lyrical approach to humanizing victims with intimate interviews and a meditative focus on the unsolved humanitarian crisis. Ai Weiwei through this doc affirms that each victim is vivo (alive) in the hearts of their loved ones.
